Went for the pie and pudding night, absolute bargain for £8.99, you can get a pie and dessert. Had a beef and ale pie (usually £11) and caramel apple betty (usually £5). The pie was light with a thin layer of puff pastry complimented by the buttery mash. The dessert however was the true winner, the caramel wasn’t overpowering and the apple wasn’t sour, it was on point and it can only be a winner when there’s hot custard over the top!
The only downside was the lack of server which wasn’t the fault of the waiters, they were understaffed meaning seating, ordering and clearing was delayed, however amazing job to 2 ladies working tonight. They were doing everything as quick and efficiently as they can as well as keeping a smile on their faces. Keep up the good work team!
Had breakfast in here 3 mornings recently along with our crew of 6. Friday was not good, despite manager's best efforts as her support staff (x1) was woeful. No communication skills and obviously couldn't tell which table ordered what! I always shudder when it's not buffet breakfast, as it can take ages and you are not guaranteed to get what you ordered, which is exactly what occurred. However Saturday & Sunday morning's were buffet and thus fine. There is only one thing I could pick holes in and that is the coffee machine which swiftly builds a queue as the brand they are using has to be the slowest coffee maker in the world!
Atmosphere was nice and calm, service was good, food was yummy and enjoyed it very much, & during day times midweek they've a cool deal on too for the meals so that was great!
